Digital-first operations
Explore paperless customer journeys, efficient digital infrastructure and responsible procurement, with impact metrics added when validated.
Digital-first thinking. Meaningful, measurable impact.
A digital-first operating model may create opportunities to reduce paper use and unnecessary travel. But meaningful sustainability depends on measurement, accountability and thoughtful choices - including the energy and governance implications of digital assets. GHB’s sustainability commitments remain proposals until formally adopted and reported.

GHB plans a branchless digital-first model, without paper statements by default, and without the operational carbon footprint of a traditional bank. That structural advantage is quantified and disclosed in our annual ESG report. But sustainability at GHB goes beyond our own operations, and beyond the UAE.
GHB intends to commit to mobilising AED 10 billion in sustainable and transition finance by 2030, focusing on renewable energy, green real estate, and clean transportation across the markets we serve. Onshore and offshore clients can access green bonds, sustainability-linked loans, and transition finance directly through GHB's onshore or offshore entity.
GHB plans to structure and issue green bonds and SLLs for corporate clients globally through the applicable perimeter. The UAE sustainable debt market is deepening, and GHB intends to bring digital-native issuance capability to mid-market and corporate clients operating across borders.
GHB will prioritise support for proof-of-stake assets and regulated stablecoins, and offers clients ESG-aligned crypto screening options. Our custody and treasury services are designed to align with the sustainability objectives of the jurisdictions in which our clients operate.
GHB's proposed branchless model is intended to reduce the real-estate, paper, and commuting emissions of traditional banking. We measure and disclose our Scope 1 and 2 emissions annually across both perimeters, set reduction targets, and report progress against them in our ESG report.
